Two ICMAB researchers granted with Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowships with Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent
Dr. José M. Muñoz and Dr. Francesca Leonardi, from the NANOMOL group, have been granted with a Juan de la Cierva Fellowship to continue their postdoctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent.
Francesca arrived at ICMAB in May 2015 and is working since then under the supervision of Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent on the development of organic transistors operated in liquid environment. She has been granted with a Juan de la Cierva-Incorporation fellowship.
Jose M. Muñoz arrived in February 2016 and his postdoctoral research, under the supervision of Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent and Dr. Núria Crivillers, is focused on nanostructured carbon materials for the development of electrochemical pollutant sensors. José has been granted with a Juan de la Cierva-Formation fellowship.
Molecular Electronics: Materials And Devices
Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent’s research group is focused on the design and synthesis/preparation of new functional molecular materials for their application in organic/molecular electronic devices. Their work ranges from fundamental studies in order to better understand materials properties to a more applied perspective aiming at developing proof-of-principle devices. Their ares of interest include synthesis of novel functional molecules (electroactive molecules, organic radicals, etc.), surface self-assembly, crystal engineering, molecular switches, organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), electrolyte-gated field-effect transistors (EGOFETs), charge transport and organic-based (bio)-sensors.
Dr. Marta Mas-Torrent counts with two ERC projects: a first ERC Starting Grant for "Surface Self-Assembled Molecular Electronic Devices: Logic Gates, Memories and Sensors", and a second ERC Proof-of-Concept for “Large Area Organic Devices with bar assisted meniscus shearing technology”.
