Roberta Verrelli (Italy) is already a postdoc researcher at ICMAB since 2016. She did her PhD in Sapienza University of Rome (2015), with PhD stays at Chalmers University of Technolog (Sweden), Massachusetts Institute of Technology-MIT (USA) and Helmholtz-Institut Ulm (Germany). Roberta's research focus on the design and synthesis of magnesium and calcium-based batteries. She participates in the ICMAB-coordinated CARBAT project, lead by M. Rosa Palacín, in which they propose calcium-based rechargeable batteries to be a Future and Emerging Technology helping to solve some of the Grand Challenges our modern society is facing: pollution, oil-dependency, and climate change.
Elzbieta Pach (Poland) did her PhD at ICN2 with a MSCA Fellowship on electron microscopy studies on functional carbon nanotubes (2017). After a postdoc at ICN2 focused on in-situ XPS (synchrotron), she now comes to ICMAB to work with Albert Verdaguer, specialized on image analysis, electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, etc. They will be working on novel and optimized interfaces for responsive molecular-based devices, especially in the development of nanoscale methods based on multifrequency AFM.
We hope you have a nice stay at the ICMAB!
